Factor Pair Up Reflection
In choosing the game, we all had different idea. One person wanted a spelling game and the other wanted a typing game, it took u a while to finally land on a game that we all agree. The Educational Game that we chose was Factor Pair Up and this can be found on Math Playground this website consists of different games that can help students understand math in a fun and a more relax environment. Math Playground caters students from first grade to fifth but it doesn't have to stop there, students with higher educational level can utilize this site as a refresher.
One of the requirements in assessing an online game is to create a rubric analyzing the game. When it comes to challenges, the only problem that we had is our schedule. Though we had some differences, that did not stop us from communicating and delivering our information. Some of the communication tools that we used were Google Docs, Whatsapp, Google Keep, these tools allow us to communicate through eMail or text messages. Our group created a website on Wix that is available for everyone to view and access the game directly.
As an Elementary Education Major, I can use this game in order to review my students on how much they know about their factors. With a specialty in Early Childhood I can also utilize this game for number identification. The visuals of the game is very child friendly that children of young age will be excited to see.
If I create an online game assignment for elementary students then I would change some of the requirement. For example, instead of having them create a rubric I will provide one for them to use as a guide. The games will also be selected for them, I will make them choose using a lottery system. With this assignment we were required to create a website and to present in class. I would probably change the presentation requirement, instead of creating a website then they can use powerpoint since they are still learning, but if they are willing to go beyond then I will be more than happy to guide them.
